湖南日報消息，6月29日，湖南省十四屆人大常委會第二十三次會議經過表決，決定任命劉揚為湖南省人民政府副省長。
此前，劉揚已任湖南省政府黨組成員。
公開簡歷顯示，劉揚，男，漢族，1973年10月生，研究生，中共黨員。
劉揚曾任湖南湘潭市委副書記、統戰部部長，湖南省總工會黨組書記、副主席，湖南省交通運輸廳黨組書記、副廳長等職，2024年5月任湖南省交通運輸廳黨組書記、廳長，至近期履新。
