本周我們學(xué)習(xí)和社交相關(guān)的詞匯

1. ghost/ɡ??st/

v.突然停止回復(fù)某人的消息、電話，毫無(wú)解釋地“人間蒸發(fā)”

e.g. I don’t understand why she suddenly stopped replying and ghosted me.

e.g. He ghosted me after our first date.

e.g.Getting ghosted can feel really frustrating.

類(lèi)似表達(dá)：leave someone on read 已讀不回

e.g. She saw my message but left me on read.

2. hangover /?s????l/

搭配：social hangover 社交之后感到情緒耗盡的一種狀態(tài)

e.g.Sometimes I need a day alone to recover from a social hangover.

e.g.After attending three social events in one weekend, I had a serious social hangover.

搭配: recharge one’s social battery通過(guò)獨(dú)處、休息來(lái)恢復(fù)社交精力

e.g. I need some alone time to recharge my social battery.

e.g. After a long week of socializing, my social battery is completely drained.

補(bǔ)充：battery is drained 精力耗盡

3. dry /dra?/

adj.冷淡的;淡然的;不動(dòng)感情的

搭配：dry reply 冷淡的；敷衍的(沒(méi)有什么內(nèi)容的)回復(fù)

dry conversation 尬聊

e.g. His replies were so dry that I stopped texting him.

e.g. Some people give dry replies because they’re busy or socially drained, while others simply aren’t interested in continuing the conversation.

e.g. I hate dry conversations because they make me feel awkward.

補(bǔ)充：socially drained adj. 社交后精疲力竭的

其他補(bǔ)充：dry conversation 冷幽默

e.g. British people are famous for their dry humor.

e.g. I enjoy dry humor because it sounds intelligent.

4. blow up

搭配：blow up someone’s phone 給某人瘋狂發(fā)消息 / 連環(huán)轟炸電話消息

e.g. My friends blew up my phone after the exam results came out.

e.g. Nowadays, group chats can easily blow up people’s phones with endless notifications, which many people find distracting.

補(bǔ)充：notification n.通知

類(lèi)似搭配：double text 連發(fā)消息

e.g.I did not want to seem desperate, so I avoided double texting.

e.g.Nowadays, some people hesitate to double text because they worry about appearing too eager or emotionally dependent.

補(bǔ)充：eager/ desperate 都表示過(guò)于主動(dòng)積極，太想得到回應(yīng)。
